Structure and Form: Monochrome - 2nd Year

For this project I wanted to create woven fabrics that were different from my previous 2nd year work. I wanted to design weaves that were intricate with a lot of textures within them creating the structure and form that I wanted. For me there was only one topic that would allow me to consistently draw with texture and detail mixed in together. This topic was waves. I used many different types of yarns within my weaves, the main warp yarns where wool and cotton. I used wool for this project as I had the idea of washing them after they came off the loom to really increase the textures and combinations of thick and thin with textured and non-textured yarn. Below shows some of the work that has inspired my woven outcomes and the final samples.
